Decisions to lay off employees is one no employer wants to make. However, if layoffs do occur, your decision to include Rapid Response as part of your company’s overall outplacement initiatives allows employees access to additional services and programs that will help them through this difficult time. Rapid Response teams provide your employees with a wide array of information and services, including:
- Career counseling and finding a job
- Resume preparation and interviewing skills workshops
- Information on scholarships and retraining opportunities
- Labor Market Information (LMI) and Occupation Data
- Unemployment Insurance
These services and resources are available for your workers at your nearby Missouri Career Centers. Your workers will have access and use of computers, telephones, and fax machines; resume and job search preparation, financial planning and stress management workshops; financial support for training; income support for production jobs lost due to foreign competition; and special services for veterans and adults with disabilities. MO Career Centers are open to the public at large, including those who have been laid off from their job. For more information, contact your State Rapid Response Coordinator.
